How to read śāstra
पठन-धर्मः · paṭhana-dharma
Classical jyotiṣa-śāstras are not algorithmic prediction tables. They are guru-paramparā transmissions condensed across centuries; each śloka carries layers of commentary (vyākhyā). Jaimini's aphorisms, for example, are nearly opaque without a teacher.
This library works as a sūcī-grantha — an index-text. It shows which adhyāya treats which topic, with one fair-use representative verse where helpful. It does not make predictions from these texts. That work belongs to a qualified jyotiṣī reading an actual chart.
The engine computes positions; the śāstra frames interpretation; the practitioner holds the relationship between the two. The first two are made transparently accessible here — the third is your own pursuit.

Learning bestows humility; from humility, worthiness; from worthiness, prosperity; from that, dharma; and from dharma, joy.
