जैमिनि-मार्गःJaimini Path — The Parallel Tradition
Jaimini-mārga — Six modules through the Upadeśa-sūtras of Maharṣi Jaimini — chara-kāraka theory, ārūḍha, cara-daśā, sthira-daśā, nārāyaṇa-daśā, and rāśi-dṛṣṭi. The terse-aphorism school that runs parallel to Pārāśara.

Salutations to the revered Jaimini — bestower of the sūtra-kāraka system.
Jaimini's Upadeśa-sūtras are the second great pillar of classical jyotiṣa, alongside BPHS. The sūtras are extremely terse — nearly opaque without a teacher — but the techniques are powerful and complementary to Pārāśara's. This path traces six core Jaimini topics, each anchored to specific adhyāya-pāda sections.

Jaimini's Karaka Theory — 7 vs 8 Schools
Jaimini's Adhy. 1 · Pāda 1 — the chara-kāraka system, where the graha with the highest degree in any rāśi becomes the Ātma-kāraka, the next the Amātya-kāraka, and so on.

Ārūḍha — The Image-of-the-House System
Each bhāva has an ārūḍha-pada — a 'projected image' rāśi that represents how the bhāva manifests outwardly. The ārūḍha-lagna (AL) is the projected-self.

Cara-Rāśi-Daśā — Jaimini's Movable-Sign Daśā
Adhy. 3 · Pāda 1 — Cara-rāśi-daśā is a sign-based daśā (not nakṣatra-based). Each rāśi rules for years determined by counting to the lord's position.

Sthira-Daśā — Fixed-Sign Periods
Adhy. 3 · Pāda 2 — Sthira-daśā uses fixed periods (7/8/9 years per sign) rather than computed periods. A coarser timing-frame than cara-daśā.
Open module → - नारायण-दशाNārāyaṇa-daśā
Nārāyaṇa-Daśā — Cara-Daśā for the Ārūḍha
An extension of cara-rāśi-daśā computed from the ārūḍha-lagna rather than the lagna. Used for analyzing how the projected-self evolves over time.

Rāśi-Dṛṣṭi — Jaimini's Sign-Aspect System
Jaimini's distinctive aspect-rule: rāśis (not grahas) aspect rāśis, with specific rules based on movability. A key interpretive supplement to graha-dṛṣṭi.
