What Maṅgalika actually means
Mars (Maṅgala) placed in the 1st, 4th, 7th, 8th, or 12th house from Lagna or natal Moon. Five houses out of twelve = ~42% of charts have it from Lagna alone. When you also check from Moon, it goes to ~60%.
Mars in these houses can amplify aggression, friction, or conflict in marriage. The classical concern: marital tension, separation, even early death of spouse. The classical text exaggerates · the modern reality is much milder.
