What is "business muhurta"?

A muhurta for business is the planetary time-window most favorable for starting a venture: incorporation, product launch, signing major contracts, opening physical premises, switching to a new bank account, hiring critical employees.

Tithi · Lunar day

Favorable: 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 10th, 11th, 13th tithis. Avoid: 4th, 9th, 14th, amāvasyā (new moon · except Diwali). 11th tithi (Ekādaśī) is universally excellent for new ventures.

FACTOR 2
Nakṣatra · Lunar mansion

Best for business: Puṣya, Hasta, Citrā, Svātī, Anurādhā, Uttara-phālgunī, Uttara-aṣāḍhā, Uttara-bhādrapada, Revatī. Avoid: Ārdrā, Āśleṣā, Mūla, Jyeṣṭhā for new commercial starts.

FACTOR 3
Vāra · Day of week

Best: Wednesday (Mercury · trade), Thursday (Jupiter · expansion), Friday (Venus · luxury). Avoid: Tuesday (Mars · conflict), Saturday (Saturn · delay) for openings — though Saturn-day is fine for serious institutional builds with long horizon.

FACTOR 4
Yoga · Sun-Moon combination

Best yogas: Siddha, Sukarmā, Dhṛti, Ravi-yoga. Avoid: Vyatipāta, Vaidhṛti, Atigaṇḍa, Śūla — these specifically harm new ventures.

FACTOR 5
Lagna at the moment of action

Akṣaya Tṛtīyā · April 21, 2026 · Tuesday: The single most auspicious day in the calendar for new beginnings. "Imperishable third" · whatever you start today multiplies forever. Use abhijit muhurta (11:36-12:24 IST) for incorporation / signing.
Diwali · November 9, 2026 · Monday: Lakṣmī-pūjā day. Traditional Indian financial year start. Open new accounting books. Best for retail business launches.
Guru Pūrṇimā · July 8, 2026 · Wednesday: Gurus + teachers + advisory businesses (consulting, coaching, education) launch well today. Mercury weekday + lunar peak alignment.

What's NOT enough on its own

1. Just picking Akṣaya Tṛtīyā isn't enough.

If your personal chart is in a hostile Saturn antar-daśā when you launch, even Akṣaya Tṛtīyā can't fully compensate. Personal chart × universal day = real verdict.

2. Phone-astrologer "use this date" advice often skips chart-specific check.

"Tuesday at 10 AM is bad for everyone" is wrong — Tuesday-Mars day is excellent for surgeons, fitness brands, military contractors, real-estate developers. Chart-specific check matters.

3. Mercury retrograde absolute rule is half-true.

Mercury retrograde delays signings IF Mercury is your business's significator. For non-Mercury businesses (e.g., real estate ruled by Mars/Venus), Mercury retrograde isn't a hard block.
